Random Tuesday....Excuse the mess!

We are working on my blog and giving it a new look!  So is not working.  Ha!!!  But we will get it straightened out soon....I hope!  (fingers crossed)

Do you ever do those books on tape?  So cool!  Makes a trip seem so short.  But it can also drive you crazy!  We started one on our trip to see the grandkids and that was about one month ago.  Ha!  We still haven't finished it.  We have talked about just driving around so we could hear the end.  But, saints be praised...we are going to Las Cruces this week so we will be able to finally finish it!!!!!

Dr. John is conducting interviews at the University there (NMSU).  For a new professor in the Geotechnical Engineering Department...well an Associate position is he is part of the search committee.  So I will tag along and veg!!!  Read and play on my computer is about all that I will do.  Maybe I can catch up on my blog reading!!  I have been way behind!  Sorry about that!

NMSU campus

The weather yesterday was really awful!  High, high winds....60 to 70 MPH!!!  Yikes!  And overcast and hail and rain and, and, and....just lousy!!!!!!  The wind was so loud, you could hardly hear yourself think.  And of course, the change in weather brought on another migraine!  Sheesh!  I am still a bit bleary-eyed with it.

Las Cruces, New Mexico

This is wear we will be moving too!  In about five years!  Woot!  It is warmer and they hardly get any snow.  I am all for that!!

I have a Kewpie doll collection!  Just thought I would throw this in.  One of them is staring at me as I type!!

And all of mine are nakey!!  No outfits!  No props!  Just plain ole Kewpie dolls.  Aren't you glad I shared this bit of news?  Well it is Random Tuesday folks!!

Glad you all enjoyed my Pumpkin King pics.  I am so proud of those pumpkins.  And I have a Prince still yet to be harvested!!!!!!  He is a real beauty too!  No I didn't carve him...but I just had to throw this pic in.  Scary!

Well, I have been hard at work putting  hair on babies heads'.  I am all caught up now!  Now all I have to do is put in some eyelashes and put them together.  TaDa!!  I will be all ready for the dolls shows.  One is November 6th (which is also my sons' birthday..Woot!) and the other is November 14th!  Back to back!  I am tired just thinking about it!!

Since it is Halloween....I just had to post these random heads.  Sorry Joanna!!

Droid X!!  That is my new phone!  Would you believe I have to take a class to know how to use it?  Ha!  It has so many  newfangled features; I need some learnin'!  But it is a very cool phone.  I think I told you that while I was in Ohio, visiting my family, I was able to connect to the internet with this phone as the hotspot!!  So cool!!   I also put on the Kindle app from Amazon.  So now I can read with it too!  Very cool!  But it does eat up the battery life.  I have to charge it twice a day if I use it to read a book?  Yikes!!

Took my granddaughter Cassie and her roommate Brittany out to dinner on Sunday.  Cassie is attending the University of New Mexico which puts her in Albuquerque!  30 minutes from me!!!  Woot!  We went to Macaroni Grill and I had the grilled shrimp.  She got the Mushroom ravioli!  Yum!  We had a great time catching up!  She is majoring in art...go figure!!  Ha!!

Mesa Hall at UNM!

Well, I was going to post a pic of the Macaroni Grill; but Blogger is acting up!!  Sigh!

I think this is enough Randomness from me today!  Make sure and check out The Un Mom and see what Keely is up too.  She took the day off...called in she has a guest Randomer!  Very cool!

You all have a magical and blessed day!

Show...Tell and Chat!!!

Had to share this spectacular sunrise!  Wow!  Looked like the horizon was on fire.  And it was cold...cold...cold.  Froze my you-know-what off taking these shots. was worth it!

Doll/craft show last night.  First one of the season!  It was hosted by Nancy at her home up here in the East Mountains.  Beautiful home and she had it decked out for Halloween.  So cool!  Creepy crawlies everywhere and great sound effects.

Several artisans where there.  A lotion lady, jewelry, soaps, tasty treats, glass, Scentsy and my dolls.  Fun time.  Lots of good food too!!  She hosts this every year and it is called a Sip and Shop!  Plenty of wine and beer too!  I had one and one-half glasses of wine and got tipsy.  Ha!  Had to sit for awhile and recoup!

Cheri's Gems

sweet smelling soaps

Margaret's Potions

Nancy's Fused glass creations

The atmosphere was fantastic and good fellowship was had by all!  But it rained and no one came. Well, a few showed up but mostly we ate and chatted amongst ourselves.  No early Christmas shoppers wanted to brave the weather.  Up here in the mountains, roads can get a little tricky during the!  Bunch of woosies!!  But we had a fun time and Dr. John got some of his favorite.  Green chili stew and he loved it.  As well as the cookies and brownies and Blue Moon Beer!  He had no complaints!  Ha!

More sunrise photos!!

Thanks for visiting!!  I really do appreciate your taking time to stop by and leave comments.  It truly makes my day.  Dr. John enjoys it as well!!

Have a magical and blessed day!

Random Tuesday....I stand corrected!!!

Yes!  I do stand corrected as well as other art scholars!!  Color can be the subject matter; especially if it is glorious fall!!

See what I mean?  Wow!!  Went hiking up at Fourth of July Canyon and it is so awesome.  I have tons more pics; but I will share them later!!

Added to the Fall/Halloween tree!  Had to share!!

Still hard at work on babies!!  Have a mini show this Thursday!  Yikes!  But it sounds fun.  She calls it, Sip and Chat!  Starts at 4PM.  There are only 6 vendors and she provides wine, cheese and desserts.  Oops!  I just remembered!  I need to bring something to share!  Sheesh! are the newest babes!
Warning!  For the strong of heart and mind only!!!!!

The pale one will be  red-head!  The other one I haven't decided yet...most likely a brunette.  Maybe dark brown?  Anyway, I doubt I get these ready by Thursday; but we will see.

I forgot to draw a name for the giveaway!  Oops!  I don't like being too busy and I am right now.  I will draw the name tomorrow and post the winner!  That print is so fabulous...can't wait to see who will win!  I know!  You can't either!  Sorry!!!!

I have some fabulous news!  We are so excited here and doing the happy dance.  Dr. John has been working on a book over the past year.  It is about Geotechnical Engineering, of course!  Anyway....he submitted it to John Wiley and Sons and they love it and are going to publish it!!!  PUBLISH IT!!!!  Woot!!  Woot!!

So cool!  Dr. John has a lot of work yet to do on this book.  His deadline is March 31st.  And we are so thrilled.  I am busting with pride for him!  Good work, Dr. John!!!!!!  Love you!!!

I finally got my suitcase unpacked and the laundry done from my trip to Ohio.  Boy does that take some effort.  Why is that??  Plus, I brought back more than I took!!  Sigh!  Mom kept saying, "Oh!  You must take this!"  Geez Mom!!  Anyway, the suitcase is now put away and I am ready for the next trip.

There are several places I would like to go next year.  Paris in the spring!  Las Vegas and take a class with Jack Johnson.  On that trip, I would take my two granddaughters, Emma and Georgia.  We would take a class on sculpting clay babies!  Sounds to fun!!  Then I would like to go to Corpus Christi, Texas and spend a couple of weeks on the beach.  It has been years since I have seen a decent sized body of water.  Add a beach to that and I am in heaven.

Sigh!  Be still my heart!  And Paris in the spring!!??

And of course, last but not least...Las Vegas!!!

The city of neon lights!!  I don't think the girls have ever been it will be so cool for them and for me!  Plus, we will be in a class teaching sculpture as well.  What fun!!

I guess I have Randomed you all enough.  Don't forget to stop by and visit The UnMom and see the Randomizing that goes on over there and all over blogdom!!

Have a magical and blessed day!
