Random Tuesday....Howling winds, martinis and vacations!!

As you can see from the pic above....the barn roof has been peeled back!!  Yikes!!  The winds were so high...approx. 65 MPH!  Gusting upwards from there!!  Not only did several houses and barns suffer damage, my friend Cheri lost her carport!!

What a mess around town!!  And power went out for 100's of homes.  Not me though, thank God!!  Anywho...,it has been rough!!  Today temps are cold, cold, cold.  Below freezing!!  Just two days ago it was 71!!!  Weird!!  We actually lost 1/3 of our firewood!!!!!  Amazing!!

Pampered myself last Thursday!  My nail tech is back from her maternity leave and boy have I missed her.  And so did my nails and  feet!!!  She prettified me and now I am all set to look stunning for my vacation.
Notice I said "my vacation"?  Dr. John has a conference in Oakland, CA.  He has to work while I get to play!!  Love it!!  Taking my laptop, my walking shoes, my camera and my cell phone.  What else does a girl need??  Seriously!!!

Been decorating my home for spring/Easter and I took some pics along the way....

See?  I am all ready for the Easter Bunny!!!!

Worked on my taxes over the weekend!!  Woot!!  Not!!!  But it wasn't as painful as I thought it would be.
I actually made money last year!!  As an artist...that is a miraculous occurrence.  Ha!!  I completed this task and handed them over to Dr. John.  Now it is up to him and Turbo Tax to combine them all together.  Of course, I always hope for cash back!!  We shall see!!


Early morning smiles for you....

Been watching early season baseball lately...Dr. John is a fan for sure and I have become one.  Go Indians!!
I know...feel sorry for us.  Anyway, I have a question.  Why is it that the players have to, on a regular basis, grab their crotch??  Are they checking to make sure it is still there?  Jock itch?  I mean, seriously.  It is annoying. 

I have pretty much recovered from surgery and the flu bug..but have yet to get back to walking.  Reason...ummmmmmm...winds, darkness, crazy loose dog..,.,.and just general laziness.  Ha!!  Just saying!!

Silent Saturday ~ Ninety-Nine!!!

Next Saturday will be 100 times I have posted Silent Saturday!!  We will have to have some kind of celebration...maybe a giveaway too?  Yeah!  How about one of my small works of art??  That would be the perfect idea.  Okay...that is what I will do...I will post pics of the piece soon.  I will also make some cupcakes and some sort of punch.  A Mojito punch will do!!  Ha!!

Bring your party hats and whistles.  There will be fireworks too!!  Woot!  Woo!!!  It's party time next Saturday.  Make sure and stop by!!

Photo Art Friday!!

Welcome to another Photo Art Friday!  Hosed by Bonnie at Pixel Dust Photo Art .  She gave us the challenge this week of using the color green in honor of the upcoming holiday, St. Patrick's Day.!

You could also hide something in your photo.  Which I did last week.  The object hidden in my photo last week was a rose.  In case you didn't guess it.

Work in Progress...metalically speaking!!

What a wonderful week we have had weather wise!!  Sunny and very little wind and best of all...WARM!!!!  And the work on my newest piece has progressed nicely!! 

As you can see!  I am adding some cones with twigs and copper.  Though I like the cones...I feel they are too large, so I will be reducing their scale this week.

Some more of the cones and a splash of color!  Don't you just love it?  This is some of the fabric I received from Contemporary Cloth!!  Fabulous!!

Here I have pictured some beads that I dangled.  Burlap, by it's very nature, has a lot of strings...so I made use of some of them by attaching some beads to the trailing strings of burlap.  Pretty cool, huh?

Random Tuesday....Styling, Sexy and Sixty!!

Yep!  That is me...sexy and sixty...well almost sixty-three!!  Just feeling good!!!

The good looking fella is Dr. John!!

Hey!  I won a  $10 Gift card from Diane at The Blue Ridge Gal.....what a treat.  It was a giveaway and my name was picked.  So cool!!  I love Diane's blog and her two pups, Rowdy and Izzy.  You all should stop by her immensely amusing blog and give her a shout!! 

Went out to lunch with the girls, Jodi and Cheri, last Friday.  We went to the Elephant Bar in the Uptown Plaza in Albuquerque.  We had a blast and caught up on all the dirt...I mean happenings since Christmas.  Fun times.  They offered a raspberry Mojito and of course I had to give it a try.  Boy was it good!!  Cheri tried one too!  The Elephant bar is a great place to go for lunch...it is beautiful with a great menu...location is perfect  and the food is fantastic!!!

Jodi had a fruit drink...non-alcoholic!  Yum!

Tempting, huh?  I had fish and chips with sweet potato fries and boy was it good,  The fish was Tilapia encrusted with pecans.  To die for!!!!

Saturday, Dr. John and I just wanted to chillax so we went to town and shopped at Pier 1, Macy's and Hobby Lobby.  We had lunch at Pei Wei.  Also YUM!!  I had the Thai Chicken Curry and OMGEEEEE!  It was so delish!

We shopped and shopped.  Had a blast!  At  Hobby Lobby...got some cool items for my spring mantel.  It turned out really great!!

Progressing nicely on my newest collage.  It is almost done!  Will be sharing pics on Thursday.  So stay tuned.

I picked up some kind of flu bug...yucky!!  I hope to feel better today!  Yesterday was awful!!
