Random Tuesday....Again?

randomtuesday

Another sheet of handmade paper dried and in my studio!  I am running out of room!  I told Dr. John that I need a bigger studio.  He just sighed!!  Guess that means, no!

Grandkids are here and we are having a blast.  Lee Jr. is attending theater camp and Georgia is helping me with my fiber sculpture.  I will be taking pics...so be prepared.   We are also going to do a baseball game (local team...the Isotopes).  And we will be going to see Cirque Du Soleil!!  They asked me if there will be clowns...they are afraid of clowns!  Go figure!  With all the elaborate costumes and make up, we may be in for a traumatizing evening!!!  Oh dear!

So far I have planted some lily's and some decorative grasses and the black gopher has not shown his ugly ittle head yet.  Whew!  I also have not planted our Topsy Turvy Tomato plants yet.  Will be doing that this week...we just ran out of time.

I have all these cool pictures of my grandkids on my phone, right?  And I hook it up to the computer to download them so I could share with all of you, right?  Then why won't it let me download my pics?  It used too!  Now it allows the first screen to come up and then it shuts itself down.  No download!!!???  Any suggestions?  They are really great pics.

Georgia stuffed those sculptural tubes for me yesterday and we had stuffing everywhere.  Couch, living room floor, her pants...even her hair!!  But she was a great sport about it!  And just laughed.  Took about an hour to clean it all up.  I told you I ran out of space in my studio!  I am now using the living room too.  So I can't leave anything out.  Everything needs to be cleaned up and put away or it makes for a miserable evening for all of us.  I really need a bigger studio!!

Soon with pics!!!  Have a magical and blessed day!

Silent Saturday ~ Part Eighteen

Journey with me while I visit the Alto Earthen Dam in Ruidoso, New Mexico.

Ruidoso , New Mexico is high in the Rocky Mountains of southeastern New Mexico . Towering above the Village of Ruidoso is Sierra Blanca and the New Mexico ski resort, Ski Apache. Ruidoso weather is mild and great for enjoying the outdoors and the natural wonders that abound in Ruidoso, Lincoln County and the Lincoln National Forest . (gleaned from their Googled site)

Warning!!!  Some of the photos have been altered due to the whim and fancy of the artist!!  These all met with her viewing pleasure and hope it is yours as well!?!

Have a magical and blessed weekend!

WIP ~ Fiber Sculpture ~ Day Seven

Well it has been a long week and a hot one at that.  Which I am thrilled about, by the way.  I love love love the summer.  Sunshine and blue blue skies...temperatures in the high 80's...wonderful!!

Another sheet of handmade paper drying in the sun!!

And now the piece as it stands now...both tubes are covered; including the ends.  I love the color combinations.  I am making the next series of tubes now!  The handmade paper goes on next.  Just so you know.

I left this one full sized so you could see how it sits in my studio.  Big huh?!!!

My 14 year old granddaughter, Georgia Rose, is coming to help me so I can get all the tubes sewed on.  I need someone to stand in the back of the canvas and help me push the needle back through.  She is so excited that she will be my art assistant.

Canvas number two is assembled and ready to go!  So it is just a matter of attaching the handmade paper and the tubes and some finishing stuff.  More pictures to follow!  I will include my assistant of course!

Have a magical and blessed weekend!

Random Tuesday ~~ It really is!!

randomtuesday

Yup kiddies!  It is Random Tuesday again.  With the holiday, it get's a little tricky!  But I managed to remember.  Whew!!

This holiday weekend Dr. John and I managed to get the back patio cleaned up, weeded some of the back flower beds, planted some flowers, made another sheet of handmade paper and had a cookout just for us!!  We done good!  And we are pooped!  HA!

Visited Parker's Greenhouse in Edgewood, New Mexico.  Quite an experience!  Your drive down a dusty dirt road...cactus and sage brush all around and a scattering of houses.  Then you see a barbed wire fence with a handpainted sign announcing that you, indeed, have arrived at Parker's.  And right before your eyes is an oasis!!  Huge green trees, rose bushes everywhere and on and on and on.  What a lush almost tropical island.  You seek green and roses just don't happen here!  Anyway, amazing place and we dropped some change here.

Dr. John and I got all dressed up to go out to dinner with good friends, Paul and Cheri.  We decided to go to the Paako Country Club.  I have never been and it is beautiful.  Wonderful golf course and the restaurant overlooks it.  Entering a richly decorated dining room with many Indian artifacts; we find we are the only ones there??!!  WTH??  A fabulous space with views to die for and no one there?  We had a blast.  Bartender all to ourselves and great Margaritas!!  Eric honey, you treated us right.

We got those Tupsy Turvy Tomato plant grower thingys!  Going to give it a try and see if we can actually get tomatoes this year.  Last year we watched as the black gopher took the entire plants under ground.  Just like the cartoons.  I will keep you posted and take pics along the way.  Should be fun.

Well, enough random from me...don't forget to link up.  Go to The Unmom and post your RTT link.  I, for one, will be interested in what you have to say.

Have a magical and blessed day!
