Random Tuesday....It's time for the movies!!

Yeppers!!  Off to the movies I went!  Popcorn in one hand and an ice cream cone in the other.  Well!  I should be more specific.  Kettle corn is my preferred and my theatre has it!  Woot!  And the ice cream was Burgundy Cherry Vanilla!  OMG!!  I love that stuff!  I could only eat half and my DIL finished it up!!  Ha!  Now she is hooked on Kettle corn and Burgundy Cherry Vanilla!  Sorry Ginger!!

We saw, "Water for Elephants"!  It was a terrific film!  And it starred none other than Robert Pattinson...sigh!!

Robert was terrific and Reese (who is so pretty) was wonderful!  We loved this movie and I will see it again.  I'm just sayin'!!  I guess the movie and the book don't line up.  Sooooo, I'm not reading the book.  I loved the movie so much!  Ha!!

Then I sat at home and watched "Remember Me".  Also starring Robert Pattinson!!  Hmmm!  I see a thread here.  Ha!  Ha!!  Anyway..it was pretty intense and the ending is a shocker for sure.  Liked it but not as much as "Water for Elephants".

Ginger (DIL) and my two youngest grands; Georgia and Lee Jr., came into town on Friday.  They went to the Albuquerque Zoo.

Then they came to our house and spent the night.  I fixed Chicken Fettuccine and yummers, was it good!  We had a great time and I passed out at 9PM in my chair.  How rude was that?  Ha!  Anyhow, Dr. John put me to bed and that was it for me for the night!

Then Saturday we went to WalMart and then to the movies.  They went home from the movie theater so it was a real short visit.  Darn it!  I gave the kids their Easter baskets the weekend of the prom since I knew I was seeing all of them then.  They loved them.  Candy and a little stuffed animal all wrapped up in pink netting.  Lee Jr. was thrilled with the pink netting but he loved his old fashioned mechanical "punching glove" toy!  Sorry mom!!!  He proceeded to punch his sisters all night long.  That is what pre-teen boys do ya know.

My friend, Paul is home from rehab and signed up with Hospice.  What a wonderful organization!  They give you so much support and information; it's amazing.  I didn't know you can be with them for a long time.  They task is to support you as best they can so that you can be at home, if you want.  They provide nursing and your medication and all of your medical equipment.  For Paul, they brought a mechanical bed, wheelchair and a shower chair.  Also a potty chair for next to the bed.

Paul is able to walk around right now and is eating pretty good.  But he is soooo tired!  Due to the nature of his disease, failing liver and leukemia, he is considered terminal.  It is also affecting his kidneys and his memory.  Paul is definitely frustrated but so glad he is home.  Cheri, bless her heart, is doing well recovering from her two foot surgeries and taking care of her business, Paul and her 97 year old mom!  Whew!!  To say she is busy is an understatement!!  Love them all and I help where I can.  Prayers and positive thoughts are definitely needed and thank you all!!

From Wikipedia:

"Hospice is a type of care and a philosophy of care that focuses on the palliation of a terminally ill patient's symptoms. These symptoms can be physical, emotional, spiritual or social in nature. The concept of hospice has been evolving since the 11th century. Then, and for centuries thereafter, hospices were places of hospitality for the sick, wounded, or dying, as well as those for travelers and pilgrims. The modern concept of hospice includes palliative care for the incurably ill given in such institutions as hospitals or nursing homes, but also care provided to those who would rather die in their own homes. It began to emerge in the 17th century, but many of the foundational principles by which modern hospice services operate were pioneered in the 1950s by Dame Cicely Saunders. Although the movement has met with some resistance, hospice has rapidly expanded through the United Kingdom, the United States and elsewhere."

I was totally impressed with Hospice and found them to be upbeat and caring.  Total patient advocates!!

Easter around here was quiet and uneventful.  Cheri popped over with springy bunny ear and an Easter basket filled with goodies for Dr. John and I.  What a gal!!  Thanks Cheri...loved the candy!!  Oops!  Ha!  I fixed a ham and mashed potatoes.  Yum!!  Dr. John was pleased to say the least.  I did the ham in my crock pot covered with maple syrup and brown sugar and cloves.  Boy did it turn out well!!

Today I am meeting my friend, Jodi, at the Olive Garden for lunch.  Jodi is the owner of Elite Electrolysis. I know we will have a blast.  Cheri was going to meet us but has to work...darn!!

Wednesday, I am taking Cheri for a root canal...yuck.  Then she is taking me for oral surgery!  Aren't we going to be the pair!!??!!  Ha!  We will pick who is going to drive, based on how badly they feel.  Yep, oral surgery for me.  They are doing a bone graft!!  Ouch!!

"Dianna R. Montoya, DDS is a Periodontics specialist in Albuquerque, NM".  She is my dentist that is performing the surgery!  I am a bit nervous but Cheri and Jodi both say that it will be a piece of cake.  So, I will let you all know.  What an adventure Wednesday is going to be!!

Well that is enough random for me today!!  Remember to check out Stacy at Stacy Uncorked and see what other Randomizers are up too!!  She is holding the Random Tuesday banner until Keely comes back!  Come back Keely...we miss you girl!!!

Have a magical and blessed day!!
Hugging you

I haven't gone to the movies since Inception. These seem wonderful... my Piano Man and I want to go watch Thor. He likes the comics and I want to see why the followers of the Norse God are so pissed off.

Hugs!

You sure have a lot going on, don't you? A bone graft does not sound like fun! I'll definitely be keeping you and your friends in my thoughts and prayers.

I want to come to your theater - kettle corn and Burgundy Cherry Vanilla ice cream? I'd be in 7th heaven! :)

Thanks so much for rockin' the random with me as a fellow rebel again! :)
