Random Tuesday....Take me out to the ball game...!!!!

OMG!!  It's AUGUST!!!!  August 9th to be exact!  Where is the summer going????!!!!  Sniff!  It is all passing so quickly!  Winter...stay away!!  It is not your turn yet so don't be in such a hurry to get here!!

This past week my eldest granddaughter, Lisa, has been staying with us.  What fun!!  She is a teaching assistant and had most of the summer off!  So we have been hanging!!  We took her to see our local baseball team, The Isotopes, play!!!

She even got to meet their mascot, Orbit!!  Orbit is quite the character...

It was supposed to storm this night; but it did hold off!  But the skies were so dramatic...had to take a couple of shots.  An amazing rainbow was trying to form...

Lisa and I went on a small road trip to visit Madrid, NM!  It is about 30 minutes from my house and it is an old mining town...coal mining to be exact.  And they have kept it looking just as it was!!  So cool!!

Besides all the original buildings..there was plenty of outdoor sculptures/art to see..

Then I took her to the Old Miners Tavern for lunch...also an historic site..

Boy did we shop...I actually wore her out!!!  Ha!!  So off we went back home to chill-lax!!!  We both needed to put our feet up and cool off.  It was such a hot day!!  Wowzers!!

Friday I took her to Pappadeux's to enjoy some Louisianan/Cajun food!!  Yummy!!

Lisa looking good!!

After our tummy's were more than full...off we went to Dr. John's office (AMEC) to surprise him.  They were giving him his 20th year award (a beautiful Citizen's watch) and we were invited to be there.  So cool!
So we hid in one of the back conference rooms and who walks by but Dr. John!!!  Sheesh!  Of course he spotted us sitting there and said, "What are you two doing here???".  Ha!  We said we weren't really there and he walked off!  What a goof!!

About 20 minutes later, we met all the staff and fellow engineers for their meeting and surprise award/watch for Dr. John.  Hey...they even had cake and ice cream!  Oh!  And they couldn't let this opportunity pass without giving him a gag gift!  So when I presented him the watch box, inside was a Sponge Bob watch with interchangeable faces!!!  Ha!  Ha!  Then he got his watch...

Fun times were had by all!!

Saturday, Lisa and I went to see Captain America!  What a fun and action packed film.  Not bad at all!!  We enjoyed it very much!!  Definitely done like a World War II vintage film.

Took Lisa to meet her mom yesterday...because school starts in a few days and she needed to get home.  So her mom met us half way to Gallup at the Acoma Pueblo Casino!  Busy place but a nice McDonald's there to meet at.  We will miss her!!

Today is the day I meet with the client to show her the painting I finished for her office.  Think good thoughts and send prayers my way for a good meeting!!  I will keep you posted...

Fabulous sunrise this morning!!  Just had to share...

Impressive huh???!!!  He does good work for sure...!!

Well, less than two months before I have surgery!  Woot!!  Operation lose 15 pounds has commenced...!!!

I definitely Randomed your Randomizers today!!!  Don't forget to stop over and say hello to Stacy of Stacy Uncorked and see what Randomness she is spreading today!!  We are still carrying the banner; waiting on Keely to pick it up and run with it!!  Sigh!!

Starting this week, I am laying out in the sun and catching up on the books I have been wanting to read.  I will be thinking of you as I rotate and baste!!  Ha!!  It's Grandma's vacation time!!  Woot!!  Woot!!

Have a blessed and magical day!
Hugging you
SueAnn

Wow! You can really pack and Random Tuesday. I love the pics of all the shops and don't even get me started about the summer, if it wasn't because it is hotter than hell, I would be even more upset about how soon it's moving away; Old Man Winter is probably grinning.

I LOVE that pic of Lisa with her new friends; what a smile.

I'm sending you some happy, happy, happy Tuesday hugs ;-)

I'm miffed at Mother Nature so I'm actually hoping Old Man Winter gives her what-for. ;)

I really need to take a vacation and come hang out with you - you sure know how to show a good time! :)

Love old towns like that - and love all your awesome amazing pictures.

Thinking good thoughts for you today!! Enjoy your 'rotate and baste' vacation - that cracked me up! :)

What summer? Except for the fact that I am languishing I barely even realized it was upon us.

Looks like you had a great time, glad you had fun with the gd.

That is so wonderful that you and Lisa had some time together. I know you will miss her. There are some pretty colorful buildings and great pieces of art in the town you and Lisa visited. I know your client will truly appreciate the work that went into the art piece for the office.

Looks like a most fun time. That sunrise - if only I could get up early enough. Or, sunrise could happen at 8:30.

I'm thinking your client will be most happy. You do such lovely work.

wow, don't know where to comment first! How about, WOW! And you tease--how cruel to show off all of that gorgeous sunshine. Summer NEVER made it here this year and the leaves are beginning to turn already :-(

Good luck on operation 15 and I hope your surgery is a great success!
