WIP ~ Fiber Sculpture ~ Installation Day

Woohoo!  It wasn't easy but we got her installed!  She is up and hanging and looking great!  Here are some pics of the day and the final piece!!  Enjoy!

installing canvas number one!!  Ceiling height 14 feet!

Dr. John adjusting the canvas!

installing canvas number three

adjusting canvas three; Cheri (friend), Dr. John and Lee (son)

all done!!

Canvases and me!!

I am so glad it is up and looking fabulous!  I sure hope you can tell with these pictures?!  Getting the first canvas up was the hardest part.  The ceiling height is so high and we had to get canvas number one up as high as we could get her.  So we ended up having to go get two 12 foot ladders and Dr. John (with Cheri and Lee holding outside edges) walked the canvas up on his back to get it on the special hooks!  It was touch and go; but finally he got the wires of the canvas onto the hooks!  Whew!  They worked hard folks...I held ladders!!  And supervised!!  Ha!

Canvas two and three went up relatively easy and finally we got her done!  Canvas three (the long narrow one) you  have never seen.  I wanted a natural break between the two large canvases...so this is what I designed.

You can tell with the people handling these canvases how big they actually are!  I have to say that I am so proud!!  And I wouldn't been able to do this without Dr. John, Lee and Cheri!!!!  They were fantastic!!  Thank you guys!  Thank you sooooo much!!!!!

As you can see by the pictures with me in them...I am definitely proud of the piece.  Thank you all for coming along with me on this journey!  Your encouragement and comments along the way were amazing!!  Thank you!  Thank you!!

Hope you enjoyed this journey!  After a two week break; which I so need...I am on to the next project!!  I have two doll shows coming up so I have babies to make!

I will be updating my portfolio and visiting some interior designers and the like to attempt to obtain another large project!  My goal is to get another one before the end of the year!  Prayers being said!!

Have a magical and blessed day!
Hugging you
SueAnn

Oh my, what an amazing piece! It looks like it was a bear to hang, but well worth the effort. That kind of art is a real show-stopper.

Wow...... that is a magnificent wall hanging. I am so glad I was in on it from the beginning.
There must be a lot of weight in that hanging too. Knowing how to get it up there is half the battle. Wonderful work of art. Congratulations.

Oh SueAnn, these are fabulous! I thought they were going side by side. And I really like the third smaller piece between them. Is this a residence or business? And here's the ever livin' question...how do you clean them, keep them clean especially way up high? that's the question I most often get after a piece is installed. fortunately much of our glass is installed against an existing window so the etched surface is to the inside (facing the exterior piece of glass).

Standing back and taking in this piece in person is amazing. The light from the sconces plays along the space above and below the third panel...THE WOW factor is definitely present. Colors in the piece work well with the wall and furnishing colors as you would expect from a great artist!!!

Hon, I am tearing up looking at these pics and reading your text. First, your fiber art adds such warmth and texture to what appears to be a very nice space to begin with. I love the way the 3 pieces work together; that center piece is really inspired. What a huge undertaking! (and look at you...all sexy in your blue animal striped top)
